With the upgrading of LMF into MBBS course Mymensingh Medical College began its long and arduous journey in the pursuit of expanded medical education with a view to achieving the goal for delivery of comprehensive healthcare facilities to the people. Thirty two students were admitted in the first-year batch under Dhaka University in 1962. Over the years college and hospital premises were shifted to a new campus by 1972.

Location and Space:
Located in the eastern part of the town beside Mymensingh-Dhaka highway.
Total 84 acres of land.
College building is four storied with 18000 sqm, floor space.
Hospital building covers a floor space 50300 sqm with capacity of 800 beds.
College building houses preclinical & Para clinical department.
Hospital houses Clinical departments.
Infectious diseases section is located one and half kilometer away from college premises in S K Hospital.
Female students hostel, Nursing Institute, residential buildings for teacher and other staffs are also located with in the same campus.
The male students hostels are located about half a kilometer away in the old  Lytton Medical School campus.
